Cane Creek Park

At Cane Creek Park you can bring your own boat, rent a boat, or fish along the shoreline of the 56-acre lake. There are also two fishing piers where you can set up your chair and relax while fishing for the big one. The lake is well-stocked and known for being a great spot for catching largemouth bass, rainbow trout, bluegill, carp, catfish, and crappie.

Standing Stone State Park

Standing Stone State Park is in Hilham, Tennessee, about 25 miles north of Cookeville. The park is home to Kelly Lake, a 69-acre lake that is an excellent fishing spot. Here, you can fish for bluegill, bass, catfish, and trout. Trout are stocked during winter months and black bass must be at least 15 inches to be caught. If you’re fishing from your boat, there’s a three-pole limit per angler. If you’re fishing from the shoreline, then there’s a six-pole limit per angler. Dale Hollow Lake is also within the state park and is another great spot for fishing.
